Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 9, 2026

Smart TV Cast sends photos, videos and music from your phone to your TV. Your media never reaches us — when you cast, the file travels directly from your phone to your TV across your own Wi‑Fi network. There is no upload, no cloud copy, and no server of ours in the path.

We do collect anonymous usage and crash data, described below. The app has no accounts, no sign‑up and no login, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.

What stays on your device and your network

Your media. Photos, videos and music you cast are read from your device and sent straight to the TV or speaker you chose. To do this the app runs a small web server on your phone, reachable only from your local network, which serves the selected file to the TV while it plays. That server is not reachable from the internet and keeps nothing after playback ends.

Media on your own servers. If you browse a NAS or another DLNA/UPnP media server, the app talks to it directly on your network. We never see its address, its contents or its credentials.

Your drawings. Drawings are stored in the app's own storage on your device. They are sent to the TV like any other media, and are saved to your photo library only if you choose to save them from the share sheet.

Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhy
Local networkTo find TVs, speakers and media servers on your Wi‑Fi, and to stream to them. The app cannot work without it.
Photo libraryTo let you pick photos and videos to cast. Read only.
Add to photo librarySo you can save a drawing from the share sheet. Only when you choose to save.
Music libraryTo let you pick songs to cast. Read only.
CameraNever used. iOS lists it because the app links Apple's media picker, which is capable of offering a camera; Smart TV Cast only ever opens it on your photo library, so the camera prompt cannot appear.

The app does not request the microphone, Bluetooth, location, your contacts or your calendar.

What we collect

Two Google Firebase services, both working on anonymous, device‑level data:

Neither collects your name, your email, your photos, your media, your file names, or the names or addresses of TVs and servers on your network.

Google processes this data on our behalf. Their policy: policies.google.com/privacy

We use no other analytics, advertising or attribution services, and the app contains no advertising.

Purchases

Pro is sold through Apple's in‑app purchase system. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card details and receive no personal information from the transaction. Restoring a purchase is handled entirely by Apple against your Apple Account.

Web content

The YouTube tile opens a web browser inside the app. Anything you do there is between you and that website, under their privacy policy rather than ours.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Your choices

You can turn off any permission at any time in iOS Settings ▸ Smart TV Cast. Turning off local network access will stop the app finding TVs, which is the one permission it cannot work without.

Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.

To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, write to the address below. Because the analytics data is anonymous and not linked to an identity, we may need the Firebase installation identifier from your device to locate anything at all.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app's release notes.
